India generates 9–10 lakh metric tonnes of post-consumer PET plastic waste every year. Virtually none of it is food-safe. rEOVA changes this — by depolymerizing PET completely to its constituent monomer and repolymerizing it to virgin-equivalent food-grade polymer chips. The Technology
Advanced Microwave Alcoholysis
Conventional glycolysis takes 4–6 hours and fails food-grade purity standards. Our microwave-assisted depolymerization completes in 60 seconds at 40% lower energy consumption — destroying every contaminant at the molecular bond level. No thermal degradation. No residual colour carry-over. No compromise.
Input: Post-Consumer rPET Flakes
≤500ppm incoming specification. CPCB-registered source facilities only. Full QC conducted on every batch — NIR spectroscopy, IV measurement, and contamination profiling before any material enters the reactor.
Depolymerize: Microwave Glycolysis Reactor
60-second cycle time at controlled microwave energy. Achieves >99.5% BHET monomer purity. All organic contaminants, colourants, and polymeric impurities are chemically annihilated — not filtered, destroyed.
Purify: Multi-Stage Purification
Hot melt filtration removes particulates. Activated carbon bed adsorbs residual organics. Secondary polishing filter achieves sub-2ppm output. 95% glycol recovery and recycle — closed loop, zero waste stream from the process side.
Blend: 30% rBHET Integration
Purified rBHET monomer blended at molecular level with virgin BHET — before polymerization, not after. The recycled content is structurally indistinguishable from virgin. This is where food-grade certification is earned.
Repolymerize: 4-Reactor Continuous Polymerization
Four-reactor continuous polymerization train. IV maintained at 0.80±0.02 dl/g with inline viscometer control. 250 TPD output capacity. Consistent molecular weight distribution — batch-to-batch, day-to-day.
Output: FSSAI Food-Grade rPET Chips
Contamination <2ppm. Acetaldehyde <1ppm. Colour b* <3.0 (water white). IV 0.80±0.02 dl/g. Functionally equivalent to virgin PET in every measurable parameter. FSSAI FCM-rPET authorisation compliant.
Why Chemical Recycling
